SAME HAIR, DIFFERENT LIGHT! What Blonde Looks Like Under Different Light Sources!

Описание к видео SAME HAIR, DIFFERENT LIGHT! What Blonde Looks Like Under Different Light Sources!

Here's the story...
You get your colour done at the salon, you love it, you pay and you go on with your day. You get compliments at the coffee shop, your coworkers love it, and you’re feeling good.

Now, take your new colour into a bathroom, a dark room, or somewhere with multiple competing light sources and suddenly you start to think your colour has magically faded and your colourist is out to get you.

There is a reason for that and it's simple. Your lighting isn't designed with your hair colour in mind. Every light source, including daylight, affects colours differently.

To help us explain this phenomenon, Master colourist Jessica, took Autumn's hair the ashiest she could in one session to act as a blank, neutral canvas for this experiment.

Her formula:

root: 15g 5/1 colour touch + 25g 7/89 colour touch with 6 vol 2:1
melted into: 20g 9/01 + 20g 10/01 colour touch with 6 vol 2:1
In simple terms: ASH BLONDE

We can see her in several lighting scenarios all giving off a different look to her hair. The most accurate reading is in window light in the morning, where the colour looks truest to the colour formulation above.

NOW, this isn't to say that there aren't mistakes, toner issues, or formula discrepancies. No, that still happens from time to time. A great salon will gladly book you in for adjustments with the stylist to look at any issues. But 9 times out of 10, it's a lighting issue.

*Special thanks to Capital Espresso and Pastries and Crown Flora Studio for letting us use their spaces to shed some light on this topic.

*Super Special Thanks to Autumn for her help with this project! She is an interior designer in Toronto, so she understands the importance lighting has on colour.
