How to Write a Tragic Protagonist

Why do Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) and Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) work as well as they do?
Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) and Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) have both crafted tragic protagonists that have resonated with people all over the world in Eren Jager and Kamado Tanjiro respectively.
In this video I go over how both series craft their tragic protagonists and how it places them in the pantheon of great shonen leading characters.
As not only some of the best Shonen, but some of the best anime out there, Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer are capable of showing us how to better understand not just these characters, but our own nature.
