KTM 890 Adventure R: Lonely at The Top?

Welcome to another Quick Ride episode where I take a gander at feeling out the awesome KTM 890 Adventure R. From the very beginning of the ride this bike feels very composed and well put together. The ride is supple yet I can feel even with this quick and easy gravel section that there is a lot of potential for this bike to go much much harder than I could ever do on a test bike.

The windscreen is the most noticeable problem with the design right off the bat but it's probably also the easiest to fix with an aftermarket screen if you ever feel like it's a problem for you.

I do have my suspicion this might be the best 'mid size' adv bike on the market but that's not to say I want to buy one. I value my Tenere 700 a bit differently from the legendary Yamaha reliability and overall cost of ownership from the purchase to service cost during it's lifetime. I'm happy with my Tenere but I still say that objectively this KTM is absolutely the better bike from these two just looking at the components and performance overall.

This was a great ride and if I had the chance to test this bike against the T7 at the time I would have had a hard time passing off the KTM even with the price difference.

🏍️ What is the Quick Ride series meant to be?

Quick Ride collection is not meant to be this rigid "review" style video that most youtubers are making. There is definitely a place for actual reviews but as I don't have access like that to these bikes I thought I would do things a bit differently than just list you a bunch of specs and hilights of these machines.

I make these videos just to bring you along on a test ride of these bikes. Some episodes might be longer if I get access to a bike for more time but mostly these are short test ride style videos where I try to tell you the audience everything I'm feeling from the bike at that moment and maybe do a closing thought at the end if needed.
