Mount Whitney ascent June 13-14 2017. After an unusually snowy winter, elevations about 10,000 feet were still covered in mid-June. The 99 switchbacks normally used to get to Trail Crest were inaccessible, so we climbed "The Chute" instead. 1200 vertical feet over ~1/2 mile... and what comes up must come down...
