"Musicland" is an episodic musical fantasy. It is a journey celebrating some of Sly Goodridge's compositions and productions. This musical series tells the story of King Tabanca, Pharaoh of Musicland. This kingdom existed long before Kemet was named Egypt.

Traumatized by the recent uproar in their palace and how it could have separated them for life. To show dedication to their undying love for each other, King Tabanca and his beloved Queen Shesofine decide to renew their marital vows. After their wedding, the citizens of Musicland make way as the couple spends the night together, reconfirming their love with a verbal commitment and reminiscing about what it truly means to them. With a bold outpour of memories, they indulge in a beautiful night of romance and passion.
SWEET SURRENDER is a beautiful love song perfect for weddings, as Sly teamed up with renowned actor, Sherman Hemsley (deceased). Sherman is renowned for his role as George Jefferson in the television Sitcom, “The Jeffersons.” With Sly’s lyrics together, this production team has written about two albums of unreleased music. In this song, you can clearly recognize the Soca influence as Sly added the Tabla made popular in Soca music by the genre’s creator Lord Shorty, in his song “Om Shanti Om,” Sly’s favorite song.
To complete this Jazzy Soca love song, Sly enlisted the help of Ann Maris Innis (deceased), dubbed the soul queen of Trinidad and Tobago. Sly and Ann Marie’s Jazzy Soca vocal performance is nothing short of phenomenal, with a touch of Caribbean style, Ray Charles, and Minnie Riperton; they make you want to get married repeatedly. Finally, to conclude this awesome project, Sly called his friend, Trinidad and Tobago’s Carla Figaro, who agreed to sing the background tracks, adding another layer to the song. Carla performed background vocals in the song “Ocean Blue,” from the movie “Weekend at Bernie’s II, and added her own sweet surrender. All instruments were performed by Sherman Hemsley and Sly Goodridge.
