River Severn FLOODWATER Barbel Fishing! Persistence pays off for a DOUBLE at Shrewsbury!

Great to be back out on the Severn after the recent flooding from Storm Babet. Join me at Shrewsbury as the flood water recedes with a few hours on the bank chasing down a few Barbel.

A slow start to the session with a move needed after a likely looking swim didn't produce - A move upstream is quickly rewarded with a lovely 9lb Barbel.

After a 3rd move and the session looking like it was to finish on one Barbel - The downstream rod roars off producing a cracking double figure Barbel.

The equipment & bait I used is as follows -

Rods - Korum 1.75lb TC Barbel Rods
Reels - Shimano ST4000 Baitrunners
Line - ESP Syncro 12lb
Rigs - Korum Camo Bolt Run Kit with 8lb flouro hooklength
Hook - Size 8 wide gape

Bait - Luncheon Meat! (Bait bucket left in the garage - Doh!)
