Kay’s first impression of Gingerhill Farm

Our intern Kay went from acting to farming! Kay describes Hawaii as a beautiful oasis, and she tells us how she’s finding little joys with the wonders of nature by working on the farm every day. Kay shares with us her personal contrast between her city life to living on a farm on Big Island. She tells us how living in L.A. and New York was overwhelming with noise, lots of people and with the lack of fresh air.

Kay says that when she arrived to Hawaii, she felt as if she was entering paradise. We’re sure she’s not the only one whos felt that when coming to one of the islands. She shares how she wants to spend her time during the pandemic to give back to Earth and be part of a community. Kay tells us how she loves tasting new things and cooking with freshly harvested produce from our farm. This is Kay’s first experience in an immersive farm community. She eager to learn more about gardening, cooking, permaculture and agroforestry. We’re excited to see what Hawaii has planned for Kay. We’re sure she’ll experience many adventures and will be surrounded by nature and a great community!
