In this video, we dive deep into the Liberty City references in GTA 6 and explore the possibility of Liberty City returning in GTA VI as a map expansion. Rockstar Games has a long history of including additional cities in Grand Theft Auto titles, and the evidence is stacking up for Liberty City in GTA 6.
📷 In GTA 6 Trailer 2, we spotted a biker wearing a Liberty City hat and a Liberty City license plate, plus Rockstar confirmed that Lucia Caminos, GTA's first ever female protagonist, is from Liberty City. Is Rockstar teasing something bigger?
🛫 This wouldn't be the first time Rockstar included other cities in GTA games. In GTA San Andreas, CJ visits Liberty City during the Saint Mark's Bistro mission. In GTA 5, the prologue is set in North Yankton. And in Red Dead Redemption 2, we explore Guarma in a full chapter. While these locations weren’t available in free roam, they show Rockstar’s willingness to expand maps and stories.
🗺 In a 2012 interview, former Rockstar North President Leslie Benzies said the dream was to include every GTA city in one game. And in 2022, journalist Jason Schreier reported that GTA 6 will be updated over time with new cities and map expansions, similar to the Cayo Perico update in GTA Online.
