Granite Mountain: A Classic Washington Hike | Strenuous

Описание к видео Granite Mountain: A Classic Washington Hike | Strenuous

This hike is listed in the book ... 100 Classic Hikes, Washington by Craig Romano. It's challenging, but totally worth the effort. The trail is very rocky requiring stepping around knee size rocks in places. I highly recommend trekking poles, especially for going down.

The Granite Mountain Fire Lookout was one of the earliest lookouts established by the Forest Service, according to Snoqualmie Lookouts.org. A cabin was built in 1924, and in 1956 the lookout was upgraded to it's present building. When I was there it was not open to the public.

The day I went on this hike was sunny and beautiful with clear skies affording amazing views of Mount Rainier and the Cascade Mountain Range. We could easily see Interstate 90 and Snoqualmie Pass. When I got back to the trailhead I was happy to take off my hiking shoes and give my feet and toes a rest!! Take care and Happy Trails!! - Jennifer
