Jamaican track and field announcer Donald Smith is basking in the joy of taking his talent to one of the biggest stages in sports, the Olympic Games, and has made his own bit of history.
"It's an exciting feeling. I don't think that it has sunk in yet. I have been trying to figure out the extent of this honour. I would definitely be the first track and field announcer from the Caribbean to announce at the Olympic Games. Even further beyond that, I may be the first black man to be in this role. It is an honour," the St Catherine High School past student told The Gleaner.
