Lancelin Sand Dunes near Perth, thank you for the memories. What a great way to kick off our road trip of Western Australia, sandboarding with our kids, Chloe and Camden.

The Lancelin Sand Dunes are located 128km north of Perth, Western Australia, and it’s the perfect place to enjoy with kids. It’s one of nature's true playgrounds.

Upon arrival in Lancelin, you can rent a sandboard from one of several stores in town or for just $5 (June 23, 2020) you can rent one from a vendor in the sand dune car park.

Once you have your board, you can drive your car to the foot of the dunes, (2WD accessible), and head straight onto the soft sands and begin your very own sandboarding adventure.

If time permits, try to stick around for a sunset. With the Indian Ocean in the background, it’s a simply beautiful experience.

Sandboarding in Lancelin was the first stop of our Western Australia road trip and wow, what an amazing experience. We can't wait to see what else this beautiful state has in store for our little travel family.
