“The BMW R 20 Concept is a mechanical masterpiece,” said Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad, adding, “The Big Boxer is at the heart of the BMW R 20 Concept. Truly BMW Motorrad.” The "Big Boxer" is a 2000 cc air oil-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine. It flows through a 2-into-2 exhaust setup that makes the R 20 throaty. As for the concept, though the engine received "a new cylinder head cover, a new belt cover and a new oil cooler developed to allow the oil pipes to be partially hidden."
