Back in the late 90s Europress (now known as ClickTeam) followed up the hugely popular Klik and Play with "The Games Factory".

A software package that allowed users to create games with out the need to know how to program, create artwork or even make audio.
With large libraries and a great number of tutorials it made it fun and easier to make games.
