Yea, yea, I know, you will all say that people hate horns because of horn colorations...
However, here you go, there is something more fundamental than that.
I think this is the primary issue why you can develop an allergic reaction to certain horn speakers.
(A little hint: the problem is not the horn, in most cases the leveling is the key problem between bass section and compression driver.)
Another hint: MOST current production horn loudspeakers suffer from this issue, but that's not because of horn technology, rather than improper application. Let's jump from post modern to avant garde or just think about the solar eclipsch.... (use those gray cells to figure out which speakers they are... LOL) Also, the leveling issue is why the horn colorations (when horn geometry and crossover point have an issues) become a significant problem.
Third hint: with properly designed horns there are no noticeable horn colorations at all.
