When Queen Elizabeth II met Glenda Jackson (2003) | Royal History

On 1 May 2003, Labour MP and Osca-winning actress Glenda Jackson met Queen Elizabeth II at the National Maritime Museum. The pair met in front of a portrait of the Queen's distant relation, Queen Elizabeth I, whom Jackson portrayed in the 1971 BBC drama Elizabeth R. Jackson joked about having no memory of being able to fit into a replica of the Tudor monarch's dress, a comment which drew a laugh from the Queen.
