Northern Forest 24 – Defending what matters

🇬🇧 Interoperability can be assessed in many ways, but ultimately it is about cooperation and trust between people

The Finnish Army’s international combat exercise Northern Forest 24 was held in Rovajärvi 26.-31.5.2024. It brought together nearly 6,500 soldiers from Finland, the United States, and Norway to train the collective defense of the Alliance’s northern region. The goal of the exercise was to enhance the interoperability of the participating nations' ground forces in the challenging terrain conditions of Northern Finland.

After a busy spring alongside our allies, we can confirm that we are stronger together.

🇫🇮 Northern Forest 24 – Puolustamme tärkeintä

Yhteistoimintakykyä voi arvioida usealla eri tavalla, mutta viime kädessä kyseessä on ihmisten välisestä yhteistyöstä ja luottamuksesta.

Kansainvälinen taisteluharjoitus Northern Forest 24 toi yhteen lähes 6500 sotilasta Suomesta, Yhdysvalloista ja Norjasta, sekä Ruotsista. Harjoituksessa keskeisimpänä tavoitteena oli edistää osallistujamaiden asevoimien keskinäistä yhteensopivuutta Pohjois-Suomen haastavissa maasto-olosuhteissa.

Yhdessä liittolaistemme kanssa harjoittelimme puolustamaan Naton pohjoista aluetta eri harjoituksissa jonka ansiosta yhteensopivuutemme nousi entistä paremmalla tasolla. Yhteisen harjoittelun merkitystä ei voi korostaa liikaa, yhteistä operointia ei opi muulla tavalla kuin operoimalla yhdessä.
