《史卡博羅市集 Scarborough Fair》與《綠袖子 Green Sleeves》並列英格蘭最有名的民謠，這是一首古老的『謎歌』(Riddle Song)－用一些很難達到的要求，來考驗對方對自己的感情，這其實是一種含蓄的愛的表現。

《Scarborough Fair》的歌詞曲調約略追溯到十三世紀的英格蘭。Scarborough Fair是中世紀的一個定期市集，現今英國有個小鎮正叫做Scarborough，一直到1788年停止之前，傳統上於8月15日開始，持續45天。

歌詞第二句唱到了四種香藥草：香芹／荷蘭芹／巴西利(parsley)、鼠尾草(sage)、迷迭香(rosemary)和百里香(thyme)，分別代表愛情的『甜蜜』、『力量』、『忠誠』與『勇氣』。歌詞中也出現了另一種香藥草：石楠花(heather)，則是象徵著『孤獨』。

此曲由Simon和Garfunkel為1967年上映的電影《畢業生》改編為主題曲而走紅全球，當年曾超過了披頭四，登上了1968年暢銷歌曲排行榜的榜首，至今已經有無數的翻唱版本。讓我們來欣賞最經典的Simon和Garfunkel重唱版：

《Scarborough Fair》是1=F，二胡演奏低音樂句時，因為最低音為5，可以把內外弦定在CG，用52弦指法演奏。我的二胡主要參考Simon和Garfunkel的重唱再加以改編，從低而高跨了很寬的音域，所以演奏上要特別注意高把位的運弓，快速而輕柔，務求不發出雜音。右手運弓似水，撥弄水面漣漪，讓琴皮不受拘束圓潤振動，拉出通透的音色。左手的裝飾音速度要快，表達一種含蓄而惆悵的感覺。我的二胡演奏上還有很多不足的地方，請各位朋友繼續給予指點囉！
