Repairing a Headliner Board - TIP - Car upholstery

After feeling defeated in not finding a new or used headliner board for his mazda 2003 automobile a friend came to me as his last hope to see if I could fix it and reupholster it.
Most of the front and right lateral part of the board was crushed down...the problem is this car had suffered a collision and tumbled over on the right side.
This cardboard was made of fiber glass and it was covered with a thick cloth strongly glued to its surface.
The idea is make this board recover its original shape without peeling off the original cloth. Some 6 cm wide galvanized thin sheets were useful to lift the deformed board to its original shape. As you can see the thin sheets are light but with a 1 cm fold to reinforce the edges. These metal sheets were attached to the board by using rivets.
To erase irregularities I thoroughly glued a sheet of dense manta(muslin) as a backing cloth.
As last touch a like-suede cloth was upholstered on top...the 'hair' of the suede should comb forwards. To protect this suede is advisable to spray a special teflon all over its surface.
