Marine Depot Featured Tank: Adnan's SPS Dominate 150 Gallon Reef

Welcome to another Marine Depot Featured Tank video were we spotlight some outstanding reef aquariums from favorite customers. We have an awesome reef aquarium in store for this episode that comes from halfway around the globe. This prized tank resides in Saudi Arabia and the proud owner, Adnan, has been a loyal Marine Depot customer since 2009. Stay tuned to see some impressive coral colonies from a hobbyist who’s passion and dedication to the hobby is second to none.

The footage at 0.32 was actually shot back in 2013. Later in the video you will see some more recent shots and I thought it was pretty cool to see this amazing progression on film.

At 1:07 you can see what the tank looks like today, as you can tell many of the same corals have grown exponentially within just a short time.

Adnan uses a Neptune System Apex controller which he credits with much of his success in keeping stable water parameters. The system has an AquaMaxx EM300 protein skimmer, a pair of EcoTech Marine VorTech MP40 pumps and a Korallin C1502 Calcium Reactor.

From what Adnan has shared with us, it is apparent that keeping a reef in this part of the world is not an easy task. Fish stores are really few and far between and 99% of his equipment is ordered online from the US. Most all of the corals in the aquarium were collected from the Red Sea or carried thousands of miles to make it into his aquarium. This kind of dedication is what makes this hobby special, passionate people who really care not only about the hobby but also for the animals we keep and preserving them in their natural habitat.
