His essay took his fellow liberals to task for what he called the "moral panic" of identity politics, arguing that brand of politics had cost the Democrats the election. It was provocative, and is now the stepping off point for his latest book, "The Once and Future Liberal: After Identity Politics." Lilla joins The Agenda to discuss his ideas.
