A pivotal moment for the Purple Line as the latest light rail vehicle (LRV) departs from New York and is securely transported to the Operations and Maintenance Facility (OMF) on Veterans Highway using specialized trailers. This cutting-edge facility will accommodate the Purple Line Operational Control Center, equipped with advanced train control and monitoring systems.

The Purple Line will extend from New Carrollton in Prince George’s County to Bethesda in Montgomery County, providing direct connections to the Metro Red, Green and Orange lines at Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park, and New Carrollton, as well as links to MARC, Amtrak and local bus services.
