Holy wow you all just have to believe me when I say this is hands down one of the greatest books I've ever had the privilege to read. A young Swedish boy finds himself mistakenly in San Francisco instead of New York after getting on the wrong boat and being separated from his brother. He lands right in the thick of the gold rush in the 1800s and spends years trekking across the American west. I was riveted the entire time by both the unparalleled prose and the captivating story. JUST READ IT. (Published in 2017.)
