It works!
It does a great job...of getting the temp to 80 degrees, in my environment. I placed it in a 20 qt clear tote I bought at Walmart, filled with treated water, next morning 80 degrees. I keep my a/c at 77 degrees( here in south Texas that's cool), and the ambient temp of that tote full of water at room temp was 72 degrees, for three days until I added the heater and it went to 80. That's 2 degrees hotter than I keep my tanks so these heaters are useless to me, but they're in perfect order so I'll eat the loss and maybe try to sell them. Other than that they are great little heaters if you need the water at 80 degrees.
