I'm kinda proud on how well the modifications fit together (considering my created guns don't normally look that great).

Base Weapon: Cryolator. Modifications used: Improved splitter (Plasma Gun), temporarily - Hunting Rifle stock, reflex sight (Nail Gun - attaching a Baseball Launcher receiver to the Nail Gun first), overcharged gauss muzzle (Nail Gun - attaching a Baseball Launcher receiver to the Nail Gun first), recoil compensating stock (Cryolator)

When the modification you want to attach is lower down the modification list then the weapon you want it to attach to has modification slots visible (In this case the Cryolator has only 3 modification slots and the sight and muzzle from the Nail Gun is at the 5th and 6th slot) - then you will not be able to attach that modification normally. However, if you increase the modification slots visible of that gun (here the Cryolator) with e.g. a Hunting Rifle stock and take away modification slots from the sacrificial weapon (here the Nail Gun via attaching a Baseball Launcher receiver) then it can be attached.

As a bonus I'm also using Weapon Stacking to get the junkies legendary effect on that Cryolator:    • Запись  
Weapon Stacking is highly experimental and can cause stuttering and crashes - that's why I'm switching weapons so much, to prevent those issues from occurring.

If a weapon shoots an explosive projectile while also doing energy damage: the energy damage will be additionally turned into explosive damage, massively increasing its damage output - especially with shotguns. Thanks to ‪@Geta92‬ for figuring that out.
The overcharged gauss muzzle from the Nail Gun turns the Cryolator into an explosive weapon. The shotgun effect from the plasma splitter and the Cryolator benefitting from Heavy Gunner makes that weapon surprisingly effective (6x 69 energy explosive damage added). The blast radius is really small though.

The spread of that Cryolator Shotgun can be adjusted (like most guns) depending on if you crouch, move around or aim with the sight. So if you run around hip firing the spread will be the highest. But if you crouch, don't move and aim with the sight that Cryolator will also be good at longer ranges.

When using that glitch - finding a right reflex sight can be rather tricky, (if you don't straight out attach a scope) so you may need to try different ones until one fits. But sometimes scopes is your only option if no reflex sight works. All reflex sights reduce aimed spread by 15% and scopes reduce that spread by 20%. Glow sights reduce the aimed spread by 10%.

You can easily select the modification slot (on PC) for the Forced Mod Attach Glitch with help of the mouse. You only need to hover with the point of the mouse over the middle of the heart of a favorite or a slot that doesn't has any weapon in it in the first place (while the first weapon is selected). That also works if the mouse is hovering over the star for a legendary or the square of an equipped weapon. If done correctly - after pressing the modify and scrap button the game will automatically select the slot where the mouse is.
