Me talking about dog's and trying to figure out why the do what they do.

I've decided to make these Spy Pen Test Videos as interesting possible when using them by blathering about something or other when possible. I usually will go between a whispering or normal talking voice. I feel by doing this you will also get to hear the quality of the audio that the pen records.

This is a Hidden Camera Digital Video Recorder shaped like a Mini Pen Cam and Executive Style Camera Ballpoint Pen that I bought off Ebay for less than $24.00. It came from China. My impressions of the camera are as follows. The Pen feels and looks like a regular pen. You can write with it as normal pen would. If you are going to wear the Pen, you will have to figure out the best spot to put it on our body. I was wearing a hoodie and had the pen clipped above where the zipper opened, so basically in the middle of my chest for most of the video. You have to be careful though that something like a zipper from the hoodie doesn't rub against the pen and make noise. Sometimes I hold the pen in my hand like a microphone and film that way. I don't recommend putting the pen in your pocket or belt when you are walking because the motion from your leg or body while walking moves the pen too much. I think a shirt pocket would generally be the best place, but the main problem with wherever you clip the Pen is that it seems to tilt up and you wind up filming most things that are close to you at about shoulder height. The Video Quality was good and relatively smooth when not moving much. When walking you have bouncing camera motion from moving of coarse and the video recordings was a little jumpy and if you freeze a video frame when watching the video from moving, sometimes the video image will not look sharp or be blurry. The Audio was muffled or tinny sounding, even when I was holding the pen in my hand, but generally clear enough to hear myself when I spoke in a normal talking voice. I'm trying to not be too hard on the pen because in my opinion, I would say the Pen worked pretty great for the price.

You can record video or take photos with the camera but I had to supply a Micro Film Card. The Pen itself has a Rechargeable Battery with a USB Cable to hook up to your computer for charging and transferring files. You unscrew the pen from the middle to uncover a hidden USB connection, which you can use to charge the pen or transfer the video files to watch on your PC or TV. When I hooked the Pen up to my computer, I couldn't figure out where any software was to change camera settings like exposure, white balance, contrast, saturation, sharpness, quality, audio volume and the only thing I was able to change was the time/date stamp.
