Faith, Justice, and Resilience: A Call to Conscience for Palestine

In this deeply moving khutbah, Dr. Hossam Roushdi addresses the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Palestine, urging the Muslim Ummah to reflect, act, and remain steadfast in faith. He begins by acknowledging the emotional turmoil and spiritual questions that arise from witnessing immense suffering, affirming that asking “Where is Allah in all this?” is not a sign of weakness but of a compassionate heart.

Drawing from the Quran and Hadith, Dr. Roushdi emphasises that trials are part of divine wisdom and that the oppressed are never forgotten by Allah. He highlights the resilience and unwavering faith of Palestinians, portraying their struggle not merely as a regional conflict but as a global moral challenge rooted in decades of occupation and injustice.

The khutbah condemns euphemistic language that obscures the reality of ethnic cleansing and calls for clarity in naming oppression. Dr. Roushdi outlines seven actionable steps for Muslims to support the cause: making dua, giving charity, boycotting complicit companies, educating oneself and others, speaking the truth, challenging false narratives, and keeping the Palestinian story alive.

He also warns of broader geopolitical ambitions behind the conflict, referencing statements by Israeli leaders about the vision of “Greater Israel,” which extends beyond Palestine and threatens regional stability.

The khutbah concludes with a heartfelt supplication for the people of Gaza, invoking divine protection, strength, and justice, and reminding the congregation that their response to injustice is being recorded—not just in history, but in the sight of Allah.
