Ever wondered how much effort it is to prepare an analogue geological model? This movie shows in 361 time steps how the deformation box is filled. The experiment being set-up contains a single sand layer, which is filled in the box using a funnel-shaped car. The hemihydrate is "whiped" through the stainless steel net, tensioned in a sieve-table, using rubber sheets and cardboard rolls. In this movie a relatively simple experiment is prepared, but the total time covered in this movie is 2 hours. Then it tales two hours to run the experiment (see for example:    • The formation of open fractures in an anal...   ) and another hour to clean up.
