Bomber Boy (Game Boy Color) Playthrough

Описание к видео Bomber Boy (Game Boy Color) Playthrough

A playthrough of Hudson Soft's puzzle game Bomber Boy as it appears in Daewon CI's 2003 compilation cart for the Nintendo Game Boy Color, Bomberman Selection (봄버맨 셀렉션).

Originally released in Japan in 1990, Bomber Boy was the first Bomberman game created for the Game Boy. It saw an international release the following year in Europe under the name Dynablaster, and in North America as Atomic Punk (   • Atomic Punk (Game Boy) Playthrough - ...  ).

To prevent any possible confusion, I'd like to note that Bomber Boy was not a port. While the PC versions of the TurboGrafx-16 Bomberman game (   • Bomberman (TurboGrafx-16) Playthrough...  ), among others, were named DynaBlaster in Europe and Irem's Bomberman arcade game was named Atomic Punk in the US (   • Atomic Punk (Arcade) Playthrough - Ni...  ), Bomber Boy was an original game developed specifically for the Game Boy.

The Game Boy Color version of the game was only ever made available as part of the 2003 Korea-exclusive Bomberman Selection. Bomberman Selection is an updated port of Hudson's 1996 Super Game Boy-enhanced compilation cart, Bomberman Collection, which also included a colorized version of Bomberman GB (   • Bomberman GB (Game Boy Color) Playthr...  ), known in the west as Wario Blast! Featuring Bomberman (   • Wario Blast: Featuring Bomberman! (Ga...  ).

The gameplay is the same as in the 1990 original, but now that it is in color, it's a much better-looking game that's easier to play due to the improved visibility of everything moving about on the playfield. The game put a unique spin on the formula established in the early Bomberman titles, and the visual upgrade here does a nice job of making it feel ever so slightly more modern.
