My name is Christopher Wicks, I am the Composer in Residence of the Welsh Society of Oregon, and this is a group of three elaborations or arrangements which I composed of public domain Welsh secular folk melodies, which I found in a collection of such songs from the 1700's. The original names of the songs are (translated into English) "Farewell Frances," "The Delight of Gruffydd ap Cynan," and "The Rising of the Lark." This recording was made on August 30, 2024 with the violinist Stephanie Barth, and myself at the piano.
