My arrangement of Enter Hallownest from the soundtrack of Hollow Knight by Christopher Larkin.

I was originally planning to break the trend of "opening" pieces on this channel by arranging the Hornet theme instead, but that turned out to be harder than I expected (not to mention twice as long). But as far as opening pieces go, this one is pretty darn good. Very explosive, definitely makes a statement.

This was a great lesson on why trying to copy the original note-for-note is not always a good idea. I really wanted to capture the secondary voices at 0:29, but couldn't find a way to do so without detracting from the main melody. I ended up using octaves and relying more on dynamics to create a contrast with the first section at 0:07.

Similarly at 1:02, it would be more accurate to maintain a constant trill in the left hand, but it sounds messy. I think restricting the trill to just those two notes also emphasizes them, and still creates the tension needed for the ending.
