How to model OFF-ROAD Tires In Blender

This is a follow up to my 3d modeling wheels in blender tutorial. One of you asked me how I'd approach off road wheels. Here is the relatively non-destructive workflow that I use frequently. Keep in mind that different workflows work well for different things, so if you need a single hull mesh this probably isn't the approach I'd take. But I like this method because it leaves making big look dev changes on the table pretty late in the process.
