Pope Francis is one of the most popular popes in history, and he paid a visit to Korea.
A papal visit to Korea was made possible 25 years after Pope John Paul the second′s visit in 1984. Korea is the third country for pope Francis to visit after becoming a pope, and is the first Asian country for him to visit. And thus, the global community had high expectations on this visit to Korea.
The whole world focused on the Korean peninsula, as he is the most popular pope out of all the popes in history. "VIVA PAPA VIVA PAPA" is a message of hope that spread throughout Korea, the sole divided nation in the world, and to the young people as well as the neglected. This message rang throughout the nation during Pope Francis′s 5-day visit.
He traveled approximately 1,000 kilometers, around the capital city and to the Chungcheong regions. Pope Francis spread the message of hope to 16 locations in Korea during the 5 days.
Some 1,700 buses, approximately 5,000 Catholic volunteers, around 2,800 press members, and 30,000 police enforcements gathered at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul for the beatification ceremony.
Thousands of people were present to catch a glimpse of the pope, and they were inspired by his actions.
The pope became the friend of the poor and lowered himself to serve thousands of Koreans.
He made some laugh with his unpredictable actions, and we saw many sides of the pontiff during his stay in Korea.
He spread the message of hope to all corners of the nation during his 5-day visit...His visit is now unveiled to everyone.
