The Best Refill For the Caran d'Ache 849

The Caran d'Ache 849 Ballpoint ( https://amzn.to/2Dw8A5Q ) is a pretty good pen but the Goliath refill in it is just OK. It's also expensive ( https://amzn.to/2Oxbzfh ) at about $8 each. I played with a number of refills and figured out the best refill for the 849.

The only refill that fits with no modification is from the Ballograf Epoca ( https://amzn.to/2RG7xDc ), but those can be hard to find in the US. So what's the answer?

You going to want to lop the end off a standard Parker G2 style refill! Then you can use the excellent Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 ( https://amzn.to/2FbwyVM ) or whatever else you want! Just be careful cutting.

Right now my Caran d'Ache 849 is using a Itoya AquaRoller Gel Pen Refill, 0.7mm ( https://amzn.to/2Ow2Aer ) and I'm quite happy with the outcome.
