Especially around the battle of Neville’s Cross (1346 AD) When the majority of English Nobles and their retinues where in France with the King during the Crecy campaign, the defense of England fell to the Northern Nobles and their retinues. In this showcase you can see the infamous Sir John Coupland with his retinue in Red. The remaining Red MAA are part of the retinue of Sir William Heron of Ford. The men in blue are part of the retinue of Sir Robert Plumpton. All these families were indebted to the Percy's Also included in this Showcase William de la Zouche and friends, Baron Henry de Beaumont, Robert de Neville a knight from the Heron family, Sir John Widdrington pointing with his sword, Sir John Pudsey holding a mace, Pudsey Banner bearer and finally Sir Henry Percy 'Hotspur'. Included also in this Showcase is Edward III and Banner man John Beauchamp
