Hrad Revište / Revište castle - short trip

Hrad Revište – bol postavený pravdepodobne v 13-tom storočí a slúžil na ochranu obchodnej cesty z banských miest Kremnica a Banská Štiavnica. Jeho zrúcanina sa nachádza v blízkosti obce Revištské Podhradie, v blízkosti mesta Žarnovica. Výstup k hradu je krátkou prechádzkou, od parkoviska za obcou, po udržiavanej lesnej ceste, s informačnými tabuľami o majiteľoch hradu. Za prehliadku sa platí vstupné 2 € na osobu, čo je vlastne príspevok na jeho prebiehajúcu obnovu. Z vrchných častí hradu sú krásne výhľady na údolie rieky Hron, ktoré určite stoja za návštevu tohoto miesta.

Revište Castle – was probably built in the 13th century and served to protect the trade route from the mining towns of Kremnica and Banská Štiavnica. Its ruins are located near the village of Revištské Podhradie, near the town of Žarnovica. The ascent to the castle is a short walk, from the parking lot behind the village, along a well-maintained forest road, with information boards about the castle's owners. An entrance fee of 2 € per person is paid for the tour, which is actually a contribution to its ongoing restoration. From the upper parts of the castle there are beautiful views of the Hron river valley, which are definitely worth visiting this place.
