When you’re just starting out as a freelance writer, you’ll get hit with a TON of advice. Right and left, the "experts" always have something to share.

But here’s the tricky part—you’ll see someone say, “Niche down immediately!” and then someone else will swear, “Keep your options open!”

So, which do you follow?

I learned the hard way that no two freelance writers take the same path.

There’s no strict “right” or “wrong” way to do freelancing–no one-size-fits-all approach.

So, I decided to let go of a lot of the popular advice out there & just follow what makes sense for me – and guess what? It actually worked for me!

My goal was simple: make money as quickly as possible and land that first client FAST.

I needed that win to keep me motivated.

If I’d tried to follow every piece of “expert” advice, I’d probably still be figuring things out.
