Pitfall 3D - Beyond the Jungle was Developed and Published by Activision in 1998.

From Wiki "In this adventure, Pitfall Harry Jr meets a girl named Mira who enlists his aid in freeing her people from "The Scourge", an evil woman bent on controlling the world."

Not much to say about this game. 14 levels of mostly linear platforming action. Quite often you will encounter a fork in the road so if an arrow says to go one way, you go the other which usually leads to some items such as gold (points) or Boots (lives). I've tried to show as many secret areas that i could get to. The game is very buggy and it is so easy to mis jump, fall through a platform or even bounce of walls to your death. Occasionally you will find enemies to kill. You can use you trusty axe or special powerups if you can find em.

The game looks alright, but not great for a late 1998 ps1 game. We get a soundtrack at the start of the game but it turns into environmental sounds as the game goes on.The loading screens are quite interesting and are used to give some kind of story in a comic book style.

At the end of the video I enter a code for the built in port of the original Atari 2600 Pitfall game. While I think the timing is off compared with the Atari original it is much better than the 32x port where the screens just did not work right at all and I doubt would have been completable. In this version I get all the treasures, missing a few points by hitting a log early on but the game still goes on until the clock stops instead of freezing like the original game.
