Bushcraft - Hand Drill friction fire. Floating Hands technique

Описание к видео Bushcraft - Hand Drill friction fire. Floating Hands technique

Regular practice method I use to keep up the skill of lighting fire by hand drill friction. My aim is to:

Feel more connected and in tune with the drill set. - It's easier to thrash out an ember by force. I want to tease the ember out using as little energy as possible and let the set do the work. To achieve that, you have to listen to the feedback the set gives.

Maintain and build memory muscle. - Regular practice keeps and develops fast twitch muscle memory. With that, I can spin longer and faster increasing my chances of getting that ember.

Maintain and develop hand conditioning. - With tougher hands I can work harder and longer. Softer hands bring blisters quicker. You shouldn't be ripping up your hands every time you hand drill. Yes a little wear, but if your doing it right your hands will be good.
