Emma (Anne Hathaway) is tragically hit by a truck on her way to meet her husband, Dexter (Jim Sturgess), and does not survive the accident.

What happens in the movie One Day (2011)? Dexter and Emma decide to meet every year on 15 July and see where they stand in life. Over a period of 18 years, they feel that they have more to share in common than the people around them.
