This second video shows how to 'improve or get a better control of speed' of the sewing machine (Pfaff 1245). The way to do it is by 'elongating' the lever of the clutch motor that is attached to the pedal...the 'elongation' give us a more sensitive and easier control of sewing procedure...the 'reduced speed' achieved in part one of first video remains the same...if we want more speed, just we have to push more the pedal downwards.
As we can see, to do the 'enlargement', we used a piece of angle iron and two small bolts 1/4" to attach the additional piece.
Summarizing this video:
1. The 'enlargement of motor lever' helps to get a better control of 'clutch engagement' when the 'pedal' is pressed downwards.
2. The 'required speed' of the sewing machine given by the pulleys remain the same. 3. It is not necessary remove the 'original pulley' of the motor for another smaller.
4. This 'tip' is not 100% effective, but helps a lot to do an easier sewing, above all, if we sew leather.
I still think that a 'servo motor' is the ideal device to 'keep the best control of speed' of a sewing machine' and the shown 'tricks' are very useful just in case it is not affordable.
I want to thank Mr, Geoff Halstead a youtuber from England who uploaded a similar video and really inspired me to post a related one.
I hope you find it useful!
