Sky News host Gabriella Power has blasted the mainstream media’s coverage of an apparent assassination attempt on Donald Trump on Sunday.

58-year-old suspect Ryan Wesley Routh has been charged with gun crimes.

It comes after the former President survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in July.

“Sadly, it’s the same story” Ms Power said.

Ms Power claimed some media outlets wrote "vague" headlines.

“It doesn’t really tell you that a person tried to murder the former president,” Ms Power said.

Mr Trump blamed this second assassination attempt on the “rhetoric” of his Democrat rivals in the lead up to the U.S. Presidential election.
