Opera Browser now has a built-in VPN service that is totally free. Once enabled, you can easily encrypt all opera web traffic, unblock websites, and prevent your ISP from monitoring your internet history.

Opera VPN has decent speeds (at least for a free VPN) and had no DNS leaks in our testing (good). Opera VPN's #1 drawback, however, is the fact that it's not a true VPN. It doesn't encrypt any traffic outside the browser, making it useless for common VPN applications like BitTorrent, Skype, Kodi, or Netflix.

Our review analysis and verdict on Opera VPN:

Pros:
It's free. That's the major selling point and the reason millions of people now use it. You'll be able to access websites that your ISP would otherwise block, and keep your web history private.

Speeds were pretty good, and we got 11mbps in testing, fast enough for HD video.

Cons:
Where to start... first off, it's not a VPN, it's an encrypted proxy and will do nothing to secure all the other internet-connected apps on your device. Second, Opera is a Chinese-owned company so you have to worry at least somewhat about data collection and monitoring without your knowledge.

Recommended alternative: NordVPN is a zero-log VPN service that allows torrenting, vpn-over-tor, Kodi, and is fully Netflix-capable.
