Lone Peak Ski Summit - Backcountry Skiing Utah

Описание к видео Lone Peak Ski Summit - Backcountry Skiing Utah

Join me, Burke Alder (https://www.burkealder.com), as I climb on a pair of backcountry touring skis to the summit of Lone Peak, Utah at 11,253 feet. The backcountry ski tour covers over 7,750 vertical feet, but is worth every step.

The south facing side of Lone Peak is majestic and iconic. Lone Peak rises high above the town of Alpine, Utah. You can see the summit peak and its beautiful ski bowl called Heaven's Halfpipe from miles away. Many skiers say, "One day I will ski that!" As you watch this video, you will experience this from my angle filmed with a GoPro 7 Black. I hope you enjoy the short film and experience of one of my favorite backcountry ski tours in Utah.

You start in the town in the town of Alpine, Utah and then take many switch backs until your arrive at the base of Heaven's Halfpipe. It is a leg burner, but once you get to the bowl—it's worth every step.

I have skied all over the world and the 360 view from Heaven's Halfpipe are inspiring. It will leave you full of energy for days.

Once you arrive to the top of Heaven's Halfpipe you make a left and take on the final ski tour approach to the summit of Lone Peak with stands at 11,253 feet. The views from the top are amazing. You can see the Salt Lake Valley and Utah County with Utah Lake in the distance.

Lone Peak is pretty low angle, put I recommend you know the avy report before you go. There are some tricky areas. Here is the Utah Avalanche Center website where they update the forecast during the winter ski season. I love this organization. Here is their link: https://utahavalanchecenter.org/

Each week I try and write a blog on big and small adventures. You can read along on my adventure blog here: https://www.burkealder.com/adventure

Thanks for watching!

Have fun and be safe!

Burke
