This video was shot 20 years ago. Lamcy plaza is a mid sized 4 level shopping mall. It is 3 to 4 Km from Golden Sands apartments. It is a short cut distance. It would be around 7 Km if we go in a cab. I started to the mall on foot, because I have to shoot this bridge which is my favorite place. Lamcy plaza is 1 km from here, again it is short cut distance.

DSF celebrations are going on when this video was shot. As you all know Dubai Shopping Festival is organized every year and celebrated in a grand way. During this period, last 3 days of the festival, are allocated for children celebrations in all the malls in Dubai city. This event is called childrens' festival. Children entertainment programs and special decorations can be seen in the malls. The unfortunate thing is the 3 days window is not sufficient to view the activities in every mall in the city. I am talking about the celebrations 20 years ago. These celebrations could have been stopped now or additional entertainment programs are added. I could go to 3 malls in 3 days and able to capture the events. Today I am in this mall. I had covered Hamrain Center yesterday and the video is also released in my channel. You can find it in my previous videos. Tomorrow I will be going to City Center to view the childrens' festival. I had shot the festival and will release it in my next video.

The shopping festival will go on for one month. During this period, the whole city is illuminated. All the streets are decorated with colorful lights and all the shops will have special decorations. It is very exciting to see the whole city in colors. With every purchase in any mall, you will get a raffle coupon and every day, malls organize the lucky draw. The winners will be given attractive gifts. Hyper markets will offer expensive gifts like gold and cars. In the shopping festival grounds biggest raffle show goes on every day. Enormous and exciting gifts are in line and lucky people are really lucky to get these gifts. During 2001 shopping festival every day one Nissan Patrol car is given to lucky winner. Apart from this, 31 Rolls Royce cars were given to the winners.
And the next year in 2002, two Lexus cars and 40 Kg of gold was given to the winners. Each winner get 1 Kg of gold. I had seen 7 shopping festivals and one never gets bored and find interesting every year. Earlier middle of the year was chosen for shopping festival and later it was shifted to first quarter of every year. Generally, December, Jan or Feb is the time for the DSF. This is a very cold season and people may experience a bit discomfort to do the shopping in the open air with so much of chilling weather.

Lamcy plaza provides 360 degree shopping area. It is called open shopping concept. There are many small shops in all the floors selling watches, sun glasses, souvenirs, crystals, perfumes, cosmetics etc. at affordable prices. It has a large book shop where you can get books on variety of subjects. It also has one Japanese store where endless items are available at down to earth price. It is a small store, yet it displays whole range of items. If you get into this store you will end up shopping for hours. I personally like this mall, I don't know the reason for it, I visited lot of times also did lot of shopping. Here one can get items at lower cost compared to other malls. Large hyper market occupies the entire floor on 4th level. Whole range of house hold items are available here at cheaper rates. If we set aside the cost, variety of items are available here. Variety of shirts and t-shirts are available at less price. Today I still using the t-shirts bought in this mall.

Ground floor has a dining space with few food courts. What I observed here is we get tasty food compared to elsewhere. Ground floor has one small crystal shop, we can get all types of gems and crystals. Lucky crystals, gems to all birth zodiacs are available. This mall has also has several public service stalls. We can pay electricity and water bills here. Telephone bills can be paid here. Traffic fines can be paid here. Driving school registration booths are available. ATM is available. Money exchange service available. It is not very large mall, but it has lot of shops and variety of shops. Couple of movie theaters are available outside the mall but in the same building. Visiting this mall make you memorable in your life.
Unfortunately this beautiful mall is no more now. It is really sad. The mall was damaged in a fire accident in March 2017 and it was closed since then. May be it is renovated and opened now.
