물 흐르는 듯한 트레몰로가 매력적인 곡입니다. 손꼽히는 기타 명곡 중 하나지요. 근대 기타의 아버지라 불리는 타레가가 알함브라 궁전을 돌아보고 온 후 쓴 작품이라 알려져 있습니다. 이 작품의 제목은 원래 "알함브라의 추억"이 아니었습니다. 이것은 출판사에서 붙인 것이고 원제는 "알함브라 풍으로"였으며, 여기에 "기도"란 부제가 붙어 있었습니다. 알함브라는 이슬람 예술의 우수성을 보여주는 아름다운 궁전입니다. 그래서 우리나라에서는 "알함브라 궁전의 추억"이라는 친절한(?) 제목으로 알려졌지요. 서정미 넘치는 선율은 타레가가 마음에 품었던 콘차 부인에 대한 그리움이 녹아있기 때문이라는 설도 있습니다.

It's an attractive piece with tremolo technique. It is known that Tarrega, who's called the father of modern guitar, wrote it after he toured the Alhambra. The title "Recuerdos de la Alhambra (Memories of the Alhambra)" was given by the publisher. The original title was "in the style of Alhambra", and there was a subtitle 'Prayer'. One of the best guitar works.
