Osomatsu-kun (1988): The OP in 1080p HD and Stereo (with English Subtitles)

Here's a weird, offbeat comedy anime with a really funny artstyle. This opening piqued my curiosity from the first shot. Since I also liked the song, I felt like trying to do a version of the intro with true stereo music. I edited the stereo opening theme together from the full 3'40 album song, as released on the CD "Minna no TV Generation: Anime Uta Nenkan 1988". As for the video footage, it's sourced from an HD transfer of episode 1 posted on Studio Pierrot's official YouTube channel:    • Видео  

The English subtitles are based on a translation of the full song by the blog Sunny Day Translations: https://sunnydayscans.tumblr.com/post/1501... I find these lyrics a bit funnier than the official, English-subbed web release, despite the meaning of some verses coming across slightly different.

An earlier anime series adaptation was done by Studio Zero in 1966-67.
