He used the equation style in his poems before others. Saeb's works, except for a few thousand verses, are a short Masnavi called Kandaharnameh and two or three pieces, the rest are in the form of ghazals.

Saeb also has lyric poems in Azerbaijani Turkish and his divan has been published frequently in Iran and India.
