In this video, we’ll be showing you how to write on a picture in Microsoft Word.

Writing on a picture is simply placing text onto an image. If you want a quick way to write on an image, but don’t want to use or don’t have a program like Photoshop, you can write directly onto the image in Word. Let’s go ahead and write on a picture in Word.

1. Insert the picture by dragging and dropping it into the document.
2. With the image selected, click the Layout Options button that shows next to the image.
3. Change the Text Wrapping to Behind the Text.
4. We can now freely move and resize the image.
5. Click Insert at the top - Text Box - Draw Text Box.
6. Draw the text box where you want on the image.
7. Change the Shape Fill to No Fill and the Shape Outline to No Outline.
8. Go to the Home tab and change the Text Color to white, increase the Font Size, and change the Font to your liking.
9. Type your text.
10. You can move the text where you want by selecting it and dragging the selection outline.
11. To move both the image and text at the same time, select one, hold down Ctrl, and select another object.
12. With both selected, you can also right-click and Group the selection for ease of use.

We now have an editable textbox that puts words on an image that we can move around.
