Starting August 4, 2025, the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation launched an indefinite strike, with 24 categories of film workers boycotting work in demand of a 30% daily wage hike. Citing three years of stagnant pay and rising living costs, the federation emphasized the impact on over 10,000 workers and called for written assurances from producers.

In response, key discussions are underway involving top industry figures, including Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna, who are actively engaging with both workers’ representatives and producers to reach a mutual agreement and resolve the issue with a fair wage revision. Producers, meanwhile, argue that current wages already exceed regional norms.
