The skin of yellow and red onions can be used to make nice natural dye. Onion skin dye holds up to washing and natural elements such as sun and rain. Even still, you should always take extra care with naturally dyed textiles.

In this video I show how I gathered and used onion skins to make natural dye. Additives such as iron/rust and alum can be used to transform the original color of the dye.
